I meant to have this posted on Tuesday when the premier actually premiered. Then when I didn’t get it up that day I meant to have it up on Wednesday. Well, here we are on Friday and it’s finally getting posted, my review for the season two premier of Finding Carter.

This show has been wild since the very first episode and it was obvious in the first minute that season two would be no different. At the very end of season one Carter is once again kidnapped by Lori Stevens, the same woman who kidnapped her when she was three.

The season two premier picks up only a few hours after this happens and it all snowballs from there. While previously we had seen Carter wanting nothing more than to be back with the woman who had raised her for thirteen years, now Carter doesn’t want anything to do with her. She tells her “mom” she is different now and tries running away from her. Instead, Carter and Lori meet Taylor and Elizabeth at a diner.

So many things happened in this episode! Max and Taylor got back together, David tackled Lori, and Carter got to return home. However, probably the biggest thing to happen was Lori finally revealing why she kidnapped Carter all those years ago. Elizabeth wasn’t able to get pregnant so she and David had used an egg donor and that egg donor was Lori.

I’ll admit that I did not see this coming. Like, I was freaking out. When she said she was Carter and Taylor’s mother I was just kind of sitting back like, wait… are they adopted? This storyline is crazy. But it also really makes you think.

Like, do egg donors have parental rights? Especially when they sign a contract saying they’re forfeiting their parental rights, can they really get them back? This is getting a lot deeper than I thought it would, oh boy.

But it does make you think and, frankly, if she hadn’t kidnapped Carter I almost could have sympathized with Lori. She genuinely felt like she had given up her children which is tragic, but then again, she did kidnap Carter so I think any parental rights she might have had are gone now.

Alright, pulling it back cause that got way too deep. All in all, the season two premier of Finding Carter was a rollercoaster. There were so many things going on. So many emotions and revelations and fighting, it was crazy! If this is how thee show premiered I can’t wait to see the rest of the season.

What did you think of the season premier? Any predictions for the rest of the season?
