Season 1 | Episode 4 | Aired June 22, 2015
This show gets crazier and crazier every week! Last Monday we saw Sean arriving at the nuclear power plant, led there by Drill. Well, this week, everything was happening at the power plant.
Sean and Dr. Benavidez were there, Claire, Wes, and a whole bunch of other FBI and Homeland Security agents were there, even Henry was there!
After Minx unexpectedly arrives at his house, Henry is thrown headfirst into a mission from Drill who has promised to bring his dad back if he does what he is told. Henry ends up right in the middle of the power plant just as they’re about to flood it to prevent a nuclear explosion.
Wes helps buy Claire time to try and find him, but she is unable to get to him in time and thinks she’s about to watch her son die. Instead, Sean arrives, having escaped FBI custody after they arrested him in the plant. He manages to close the floodgate and save Henry who is beyond excited to see his dad.
I was so incredibly excited and happy when Claire then ran down and her and Henry and Sean were back together. I know Sean doesn’t remember them, but I thought this scene was really cute and I’m really hoping he’ll remember who they are soon.
While all this is going on, Minx is playing innocent at home, but she said something that I think stood out from every episode so far, as this show has some great one-liners.
“Grown ups don’t really know what’s going on. Even when they think they do.”
This stood out so much to me and was one of those times where I once again couldn’t figure out if this was a kid-centered show or an adult-centered show. Most shows that have both children and adults usually seem to focus on either the kids or the adults about 90% of the time while giving the others only 10%.
However, what The Whispers does is divide the time perfectly between the adults and the kids, interweaving the storylines perfectly.
The episode ended with Claire finding out Henry can hear again and that it’s all because of Drill. For a moment she’s thrilled and amazed, she can’t believe he can hear again. But the moment she finds out Drill was involved, the look on her face says it all.
This week was intense. Now Claire knows Henry has been communicating with Drill and a bunch of people saw what should have been a nuclear explosion absorb itself, things are only going to get crazier. Now that more adults are starting to believe in Drill, I think we can expect to see some even more intense scenes and who knows what is going to happen.
What did you think of last night’s episode? What do you think is going to happen next?
