Dancing with the Stars Season 25, Week One: Opening Dances Recap

Dancing with the Stars S25 Cast.jpg

A new season of Dancing with the Stars is upon us once again and, while I was skeptical at first, I’m now very excited for this season. This year is extra special as it’s the 25th season of the show!

It’s quite a mix of celebrities they’ve got dancing this year and the couples are as follows:

Victoria Arlen & Valentin Chmerkovskiy
Nikki Bella & Artem Chigvintsev
Barbara Corcoran & Keo Motsepe
Derek Fisher & Sharna Burgess
Jordan Fisher & Lindsay Arnold
Debbie Gibson & Alan Bernsten
Nick Lachey & Peta Murgatroyd
Vanessa Lachey & Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Frankie Muniz & Witney Carson
Terrell Owens & Cheryl Burke
Sasha Pieterse & Gleb Savchenko
Drew Scott & Emma Slater
Lindsey Stirling & Mark Ballas

Definitely an interesting mixture. You’ve got two married couples competing against each other, as well as the return of a former champ (yay Mark!) and a new pro stepping up to the plate as Alan Bernsten was promoted this season.

The night kicked off right away with a grand opening number and straight into it with the couples first meetings and first dances.

What a night! Lindsey & Mark and Jordan & Lindsay are currently tied at the top of the leaderboard, while Barbara & Keo are in last place.

However, it’s only week one and who knows what will happen in the coming weeks.

Dancing with the Stars is airing Monday AND Tuesday next week, with two eliminations occurring. That’s right, going from 13 couples to 11 in week two!

I was pleasantly surprised by some of the dances performed on Monday night and can’t wait to see what the rest of the season brings.

Personally I’m rooting for Lindsey & Mark and Frankie & Witney.

Who are you rooting for?
