What did you think of the first week of dances? Who are you voting for?

Dancing With The Stars Season 21 Finals: Night 2 Recap!

Dancing With the Stars S21

What an AMAZING night! I can’t believe season 21 is over already, these past several weeks have flown by!

There were some fantastic performances and dances by past contestants as well as a look back on different moments that happened during the competition before we finally got to see the couples perform one final dance: The Fusion Dance.

The show opened in The Grove with a dance number performed by the pros and most of the past contestants from this season.

Chaka Khan returned and sang one of her hit songs, “I’m Every Woman” and Andy Grammer was also back to sing his hit single “Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah)”.

Kim and Tony finally got to perform their I Dream of Jeanie number that they didn’t get to do in the competition after Kim was forced to withdraw due to health reasons. Paula Deen and Louis also got to perform one of their numbers again and they chose their dance inspired by Gilligan’s Island.

Personally, I was just excited to get to hear the Gilligan’s Island theme song again.

Carlos danced his Magic Mike number again with several of the male pros and let me tell you, they set The Grove on fire!

Victor Espinoza returned with Karina Smirnoff to perform his wonderful number from Week Two, a Jive to “La Bamba” by Ritchie Valens. The hat was back, the hip shaking was back, and oh my goodness I forgot how adorable he is.

Gary Busey and Anna danced a Cha-Cha-Cha to “Dancing in the Street” which was their number in Week One. Also performing again tonight was Hayes and Emma who danced their Contemporary number to “Stitches” which they originally danced during Week Four.

Shortly after that Alexa and Mark took to the dance floor to recreate their Jazz number from Week Three which was inspired by the Breaking Bad theme. I loved getting to see this again.

There were many look backs on this season and so many of these moments got me emotional again. There was also a hilarious blooper reel which is something I always look forward to during the season finales!

Elle King came on and performed her hit number, “Ex’s and Oh’s” while several of the pros performed on the dance floor.

All three finalists got to perform one of their favourite numbers from the season again, starting with Nick and Sharna who chose their Viennese Waltz from Week Three to the theme song from Downton Abbey. It was just as beautiful as the first time they did it.

Alek and Lindsay were next and chose their Jazz number from Week Two to the song “Don’t Stop Believing”. The dance was great and the song always puts me in a good mood so I really enjoyed watching this one again.

Finally, it was Bindi and Derek’s turn and they chose their Viennese Waltz from Week Nine to the song “Roses and Violets”. This number was beautiful and I loved watching it again. It was even more beautiful as the song was performed live by Mark Ballas and BC Jean.

Finally it was time for the Fusion Dances. Here are those scores:

Nick Carter & Sharna Burgess
Dances: Salsa and Tango
Song: “Turn up the Music” – Chris Brown
Score: 30
*Second Place*

Alek Skarlatos & Lindsay Arnold
Dance: Rumba and Tango
Song: “A Sky Full of Stars” – Coldplay
Score: 27
*Third Place*

Bindi Irwin & Derek Hough
Dance: Argentine Tango and Cha-Cha-Cha
Song: “All The Way” – Timeflies
Score: 30
*Winner!*

All three couples did an amazing job this season, but there can be only one winner.

Alek and Lindsay placed third and then it was down to Nick & Sharna and Bindi & Derek. Both these couples have had perfect scores for the past two nights and have had some truly fantastic dances this season, so who had the votes?

After a suspenseful wait it was announced that Bindi and Derek had won! Wooooooooo!

Bindi and Derek

Congratulations Bindi and Derek! Anyone who follows me on Twitter or has been reading these recaps knows that I was rooting for Team Crikey from the start and I am so happy they won!

They did a phenomenal job from Week One and they deserved this so much. I am so proud of them and I am so excited to see where life takes Bindi next and for Season 22.

Dancing With the Stars Week Three Recap: “TV Night”

Dancing With the Stars S21

Season 21 | Week 3 | Aired: September 28, 2015

It was Week Three on DWTS and this week was TV Night which means each of the couples were dancing to theme songs from different shows!

There were many special guests this week including The Muppets and guest judge, season nine winner, Alfonso Ribeiro.

Having another judge means the total score has now gone from 30 to 40.

After their performance last week, Kim Zolciak returned home and while there she suffered a minor stroke caused by a blood clot. For obvious reasons she couldn’t fly out to dance this week which unfortunately meant that she and Tony were forced to withdraw.

The scores for TV Night were as follows:

Show: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

There were some truly wonderful dances tonight! Nick & Sharna and Alexa & Mark tied for first place with their scores tonight, while Paula and Louis had the lowest score.

While I understand the rules, I also feel it’s a little unfair that Kim has been forced to withdraw only because she wasn’t able to get on a plane. I hope that she makes a full recovery soon.

Week Three means there was another elimination and the couples in jeopardy tonight were Andy & Allison and Paula & Louis. However, because of Kim and Tony’s withdrawal, both the couples were safe.

DANCING WITH THE STARS - KIM ZOLCIAK BIERMANN & TONY DOVOLANI - The celebrity cast of

Come on guys! Remember to vote! Andy and Allison shouldn’t have been in jeopardy this week and we don’t want another Willow and Mark incident like last season!

Mark and Alexa’s rumba was beautiful and actually brought tears to my eyes. Mark dedicated the dance to his parents and they danced to one of the last songs his parents danced to as a married couple. It was gorgeous and they did absolutely amazing.

It was incredibly moving to hear more about the pro dancers and their lives. Tonight we learned that they came from a variety of backgrounds, from war torn countries, countries with totalitarian governments, and grew up in childhoods with practically nothing.

All these different backgrounds and all these different struggles and it’s amazing to see all them dancing together today.

Of course, it is a double elimination week which means another couples has to go home. Last night Chaka and Keo were the first couple of Season 21 to head home and tonight there were two couples in jeopardy.

The couples in jeopardy were Gary & Anna and Victor & Karina. The couple eliminated was Victor and Karina.

Victor and Karina

Next week is TV Week and I am very excited to see what all the couples will come up with!
