It’s Week Eight on Dancing With The Stars and the competition is more intense than ever. This week the couples had their normal routine to learn and three more dances to learn for the Dance Off.

This week may have just been the hardest week yet for the dancers as they not only had to learn their idol’s dance, but also three other dances for the Dance Off!

Since Nick and Sharna won immunity they didn’t have to participate in the Dance Off, but the other six couples did. They would go head to head with one couple challenging another couple to a dance off and the second couple chooses the style of dance: a cha-cha-cha, jive, or samba.

The winner of each Dance Off will get an additional two points added to their score.

Tonight was intense! I can’t believe each couple had to learn four dances this week, they all did such an amazing job!

I would like to say congratulations to Nick and Lauren Carter who are expecting their first baby! Nick did a beautiful dance tonight honouring his wife and it had me in tears it was so beautiful.

There were two couples in jeopardy this week, Carlos & Witney and Andy & Allison. Unforunately, the couple eliminated was Andy & Allison.

Andy and Allison

I was so sad about this! Andy performed what I think was his best dance of the competition and I really wish he hadn’t been eliminated, but I’m so proud of far he made it and so excited to see what he does next.

Then, after combining last nights scores with the scores from last week, here is the leader board going into the double elimination:

Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough
Score: 117
Status: Safe

Rumer Willis and Valentin Chmerkobskiy
Score: 117
Status: Safe

Riker Lynch and Allison Holker
Score: 115
Status: In Jeopardy

Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess
Score: 101
Status: Safe

Chris Soules and Whitney Carson
Score: 95
Status: In Jeopardy; Eliminated

Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson
Score: 93
Status: Eliminated

The show kicked off with an encore performance of Rumer, Val, and Artem’s Paso Doble which was just as amazing as it was last night.

Throughout the show they gave a little recap of each couple’s journey so far as well as some footage that hadn’t been seen up until this point. It’s truly amazing to see how far some of the stars have come. However, I don’t think any level of improvement could have settled their nerves as the knowledge of Willow and Mark’s shocking elimination was still so fresh in everyone’s minds.

The first couples we saw were Rumer and Val, who were declared safe (I don’t think anyone was surprised about that after their perfect night!) and Chris and Whitney who were revealed to be in jeopardy.

The night was also chalk full of special guests. First up was Carly Rae Jepsen singing her hit single “I Really Like You”. After her performance we then moved on to looking at Noah & Sharna and Robert & Kym.

Out of these two couples it was revealed that one had the lowest score of all and was eliminated right then and there. The couple that was eliminated was Robert and Kym. Noah and Sharna will be moving on to the semi-finals with Rumer and Val.

Robert and Kum

Next up was a special dance performance by Travis Wall and Shaping Sound featuring Jenna and Allison. And I have to say it was a pretty spectacular performance.

The show then moved on to look back at Nastia, Derek, and Sasha’s performance as well as Riker and Allison’s before they then told the couples who would be moving on to the semi-finals and who was in jeopardy. Nastia and Derek were safe and would be dancing next week, but unfortunately Riker and Allison were in jeopardy (come on people, vote!).

After that shocking revelation, Josh Groban performed a stunning rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” with an equally stunning dance number featuring Maddie Ziegler. Seriously, an absolutely beautiful performance from both.

The night was not over yet though. Chris & Whitney and Riker & Allison were both in jeopardy. One couple would be moving forward, one would not. The couple eliminated was Chris and Whitney while Riker and Allison will be dancing in the semi-finals.

Chris and Whitnney

The competition is tougher than ever now. Rumer and Val, Riker and Allison, Noah and Sharna, and Nastia and Derek will be dancing in the semi-finals next week and all will be vying for a place in the finals.

How do you think they’ll do? Which couple are you rooting for?

Dancing With the Stars Week Eight: “America’s Choice”

Dancing With the StarsThis week on Dancing With the Stars it was America’s Choice! This means that the viewers got a say in the dance, song, outfits, hair, and concept to what the couples were doing. After that the couples chose another dancer to help them in their trio dances!

We’re also getting closer and closer to the semi-finals and the pressure is on for all the couples to stay in the competition. However, they’ll have to wait until tomorrow night’s double elimination results show.

This week’s scores:

Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess
Dance: Tango
Song: “Geronimo” – Sheppard
Score: 31
When choosing the concept for the dance many people originally wanted to see a military concept. However, Noah said he can’t do that as he can’t just wear a costume and that if he was going to wear a military uniform it would need to be under military regulation. So instead we got to see Noah and Sharna all dressed up in a beautiful white suit and dress.

This week the couples had another dance to learn and that was the trios dance! The way the trios dances work is that each couple picks a troupe member or an eliminated pro to help them. Their scores in the trio dance will then be added to their scores from their first dance.

Trios Scores:

Noah, Sharna, and Emma
Dance: Salsa
Song: “Mr. Put It Down” – Ricky Martin feat. Pitbull
Score: 32 (+34 = 66)
Bruno loved this dance so much he actually fell out of his seat. Not going to lie, with how enthusiastic he gets, I’m surprised it hasn’t happened so far!

Chris, Whitney, and Lindsay
Dance: Paso Doble
Song: “Outside” – Calvin Harris feat. Ellie Goulding
Score: 30 (+34 = 64)

Riker, Allison, and Brittany
Dance: Jazz
Song: “A Little Part Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)” – Fergie, Q-Tip, and GoonRock
Score: 39 (+39 = 78)

Robert, Kym, and Jenna
Dance: Samba
Song: “Cinema Italiano” – Kate Hudson
Score: 29 (+33 = 62)

Nastia, Derek, and Sasha
Dance: Jive
Song: “Diane Young” – Vampire Weekend
Score: 40 (+36 = 76)

Rumer, Val, and Artem
Dance: Paso Doble
Song: “Scott and Fran’s Paso Doble” – David Hirschfelder and The Bogo Pogo Orchestra
Score: 40 (+40 = 80)

Even though the pressure is obviously getting to some, if not all, of the couples, I was seriously impressed with some of the couples tonight.

Make sure to check out tomorrow night’s double elimination show!

Who do you think will be going home?
