Dancing With The Stars Week Seven Recap: “Halloween Night”

Dancing With the Stars S21

It’s “Halloween Night” on Dancing With The Stars and oh my gosh did everyone look amazing!

The competition is getting more and more intense as the weeks go by and week seven the pressure is on. Not only did each couple have to perform an original dance this week, it was also the group dance!

I would also like to thank Sasha Farber for his amazing pranks on everyone as it was definitely the best part of the night.

Once again, Leah Remini stood in for Erin Andrews as host.

Dancing With the Stars Week Seven: “Eras Night” Recap

Dancing With the StarsIt’s week seven on Dancing With the Stars and this week there was a lot going on! This week the couples were performing dances representing different eras. Not only that, but the highest scoring couple is safe from elimination. I’d say this definitely put more pressure on the couples. All the remaining couples then participate in a dance-off

Derek didn’t dance at all this week after sustaining an injury last Monday. Instead, Sasha Farber stepped in.

Also, the double elimination that was supposed to happen tonight is going to be happening next week

Scores for this week:

Riker Lynch and Allison Holker

Dance: Quickstep
Song: “Wiggle” – Jason Derulo feat. Snoop
Score: 37
Era: 1920’s
Status: Safe
Team Rallison got the first 10 from Len for this season!

Chris Soules and Whitney Carson

Dance: Foxtrot
Song: “Five Minutes More” – Frank Sinatra
Score: 31
Era: 1940’s
Status: Safe

Rumer Willis and Valentin Chmerkobskiy

Dance: Jive
Song: “Dear Future Husband” – Meagan Trainor
Score: 35
Era: 1960’s
Status: In Jeopardy
Rumer and Val’s rehearsals were a bit of a rehearsal. They started off great when Rumer’s father stopped by to watch them rehearse. But then, the day before the show, when practising one of the dips Rumer’s neck snapped back too hard (though this didn’t stop them from doing amazing tonight).

Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess

Dance: Jazz
Song: “Super Bad” – James Brown
Score: 36
Era: 1970’s
Status: Safe

Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson

Dance: Argentine Tango
Song: “Word Up!” – Cameo
Score: 31
Era: 1980’s
Status: Safe

Nastia Liukin and Sasha Farber (Stepping in for Derek this week)

Dance: Charleston
Song: “Honey, I’m Good” – Andy Grammer
Score: 38
Era: Modern
Status: Safe (Won Immunity)
After the show last week Derek injured his foot and ankle, making it impossible for him to dance this week. Instead, Sasha Farber, who has performed as a backup dancer on the show for years, stepped in to partner up with Nastia.
*Highest Score Pre-Dance-Off*

Willow Shields and Mark Ballas

Dance: Jazz
Song: “Electric Feel” – MGMT
Score: 37
Era: Futuristic
Status: In Jeopardy
*Highest Score Post-Dance-Off*
*Eliminated*

Unfortunately, someone does have to go home. Now, thankfully the double elimination was moved to next week so that took a little pressure off. However, while Nastia and Derek were safe from elimination, the other dancers had to participate in a dance-off.

The Dance-Off takes the remaining couples who aren’t safe from elimination and pits them against each other for two extra points. One couple selects another couple they want to dance against, and then that couple selects the dance style they will be doing. You dance to either the foxtrot, cha-cha, or salsa, but you don’t actually know which one you’re going to do until the night of the competition.

The Dance Off:

Couples: Riker and Allison .vs. Willow and Mark
Dance: Salsa
Song: “Temperature” – Sean Paul
Winning Couple: Willow and Mark (+2 Points = 39)

Couples: Noah and Sharna .vs. Robert and Kym
Dance: Cha-Cha
Song: “Dance with Me” – Kelly Clarkson
Winning Couple: Noah and Sharna (+2 Points = 38)

Couples: Rumer and Val .vs. Chris and Whitney
Dance: Foxtrot
Song: “Orange Coloured Sky” – Nat King Cole
Winning Couple: Rumer and Val (+2 Points = 37)

After the dance-off the couples were declared either safe or in jeopardy. The couples in jeopardy were Rumer & Val and Willow & Mark. The couple eliminated was Willow and Mark.

Now, can I just say how wrong I think this was? Rumer & Val and Willow & Mark being in the bottom two is ridiculous. They are two of the best couples on the show and frankly I am incredibly surprised that Willow and Mark were eliminated. I felt so bad for her because she is so amazing and I really, really thought she was going to go all the way.

Willow and Mark

Sad to see you go Team Markingjay

What did you think of this week? Were you as angry about the bottom two couples as I was? Who do think is going to win?
