Season 6 | Episode 15 | Aired: March 27th, 2016
Okay, so my original plan was to post the reviews for the past three weeks first and then post this one. Those reviews are still coming, but this episode was sooooo intense I couldn’t not talk about it right away. Plus, I’m not working first thing tomorrow morning which means I can actually get this review out now (more on that in an upcoming review).
So much happened! And so much happened with so many characters I love!
Carol left Alexandria. It seems she just couldn’t take it anymore, she didn’t want to have to kill anymore so she left. Of course, as she was driving down the road she encountered some more Saviours who seemed to be on their way to Alexandria and ended up having to kill them.
My heart breaks for Carol every time she has to kill someone now. Like, on one hand I get not wanting to kill people, but unfortunately I don’t think that’s really something you can avoid in the world they live in anymore.
But Carol wasn’t the only one to leave Alexandria last night. Morgan and Rick also left in search of Carol and Daryl, hell bent on revenge, left to go after Dwight and the others who killed Denise. In turn, Rosita, Glenn, and Michonne left to go after him.
While no one died yet, the only one to return to Alexandria last night was Rick. Carol is still missing, Morgan is still searching for her, and Daryl, Glenn, Rosita, and Michonne are now hostages of Dwight and the others.
The episode ended with Dwight shooting Daryl and I think Yvette Nicole Brown said it best:
“Not like this, Lord, not like this.”
She was also right in saying that Dwight is not a worthy enough character to take out Daryl Dixon. Daryl has survived everything that’s been thrown at him and while I’m sure Dwight is a real badass, he’s not the guy who would take out Daryl Dixon.
I loved this episode. I mean, I love every episode, but this one delved into the characters and their relationships and really showed how much things have changed since the show started.
The whole conversation between Glenn and Daryl in the forest really showed not only how much they’ve changed as individual characters, but how they really are all a family. I know we all know this already, but seeing these interactions is still a welcome thing and I think it really showed just how much Daryl and Glenn have both grown over the seasons.
Rick and Morgan’s whole dynamic is so different now than back in season one and it’s really interesting to watch. It was also interesting to hear Rick admit that he now believed Carol was right in killing Karen and David back at the Prison.
It’s kind of ironic that now Carol doesn’t want to kill anymore is when Rick admits that she was right to start killing in the first place.
And while I must admit that I was glad to hear him admit this it also made me really nervous for Carol’s future. Seriously, no one is safe on this show, but as soon as someone becomes the moral compass or people realize a certain character was right all along that character dies.
We don’t know where Carol is, we don’t know if we’ll ever see Morgan again (not gonna lie, he’s still driving me crazy so if he wants to return Carol to the group and then leave again that’s fine with me), Glenn, Michonne, and Rosita are all in danger, and Daryl’s been shot!
We also don’t know what’s going on with Maggie. She had Enid cut off her hair and then suddenly she was on the ground in pain. I’m with Yvette on this one too, it was the pickles cause I don’t want to think about the other thing.
Next week is the season six finale (so soon!) and there are so many questions that need answering and so many fates that need determining. Someone’s going to die. We know that. We’re meeting Negan so there’s no way the group is making it out unscathed.
I have many theories about who might be going with each theory hurting more than the last so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens and cry when it does.
But in the meantime I want to know what all of your theories are! Tell me down below what you think is going to happen next week on the hour and a half finale!
